The all-female Veramo String Quartet was founded in 2020 by current and former students of the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Kraków after many years of close collaboration in various chamber music projects. The members of the ensemble are keenly and enthusiastically involved in promoting the Classical repertoire, especially the legacy of the Polish composers as well as forgotten or less popular musical works in general. They take pride in cultivating the long and rich tradition of performing in a quartet, but they also search for their own, original means of artistic expression.
The members of the Veramo String Quartet have been holders of scholarships granted by the Centre for Artistic Education, the Zwierciadło Foundation, and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. As soloists and chamber musicians, the young women have repeatedly taken part in various master classes as well as festivals, e.g. the Princess Daisy Ensemble Festival in Książ, the Kraków International Festival of Composers in Kraków, the Chamber Music Festival ?Spaces of Music? in Konin and the Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival in Warsaw. Participating in prestigious orchestral projects, the quartet players have performed at the best concert halls of Europe alongside distinguished conductors, such as John Axelrod, José Maria Flor?ncio, Marek Moś, Jerzy Maksymiuk and Antoni Wit.
