Tomasz Zając
In 2012, Tomasz Zając graduated from the Zygmunt Noskowski Primary and Secondary School of Music in Gdynia, where he studied with Julita Książkowska and Anna Wołczecka, and he completed MA studies at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music with Alicja Paleta-Bugaj and Agnieszka Przemyk-Bryła in 2017. He also received a master?s diploma in chamber music with piano (studying with Katarzyna Jankowska-Borzykowska) from the same establishment in 2019. He completed postgraduate studies of piano with Markus Schirmer at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Graz in 2020. Zając has perfected his skills under the guidance of Elżbieta Tarnawska, Andrzej Tatarski, Dina Joffe, Philippe Giusiano, Tamás Ungár, Andrzej Jasiński, Tobias Koch and Lilya Zilberstein, taking part in numerous master classes held in Poland and abroad.
He has won laurels at national and international piano and chamber music competitions in such places as Szafarnia, Larnaca, Osijek, Vilnius and Prague. He has performed in Poland and in such other countries as Germany, Austria, France, Norway, the Czech Republic, Iran, Japan and Belarus. The artist has brought out two CD albums: Violin & Piano (2014), recorded with Natalia Walewska, and Slavic Impressions (2021), on which he performs on a Meybom historical piano from Andrzej Włodarczyk?s collection. In recognition of his artistic accomplishments, Zając has held scholarships awarded by the President of the City of Gdynia, the Marshal of Pomorskie Voivodeship, the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Rotary Club Gdynia, the Energa Foundation and the Polish Children?s Fund.
