Recordings from the Competition on CDs

The most interesting recordings of the Competition performances have just appeared in a six-disc series released by the label DUX.

The discs contain forty-five works composed by nineteen Polish musicians. Three of the compositions featured in the compilation: the Duo concertant in F minor for two violins by Joachim Kaczkowski, as well as Bajka and Burlesque for violin and piano by Artur Malawski, have thus been given their worldwide premieres on the phonographic scene. The records present selected artists who participated in the Competition and their interpretations of a number of works written by Polish composers. Each CD contains introductory comments and some biographical information on the featured performers.

The collection of six discs documenting the International Competition of Polish Music contains five CDs dedicated to the composers and the sixth one which focuses on the prize winners of the Competition:

CD 1 Moniuszko, Melcer-Szczawiński

CD 2 Lessel, Różycki

CD 3 Moszkowski

CD 4 Malawski, Spisak

CD 5 Elsner, Dobrzyński, Noskowski

CD 6 Competition Winners

All the individual CDs from the collection can be purchased from the website of the record label DUX.

The release of the CD collection realises one of the principal objectives of the Competition, i.e. to champion, and reinstate in the concert programmes, forgotten or underrated gems of the Polish musical legacy, and also to promote talented musicians who are willing to add lesser-known works written by Polish composers to their repertoires.

We are sure that the recordings will give you plenty of listening delights!
