Announcement of an amendment to the Rulebook

Due to the protracted epidemic situation and the resulting current restrictions, the Institute of Music and Dance, as the organiser of the 2nd Stanisław Moniuszko International Competition of Polish Music, pursuant to section 52 of the Rulebook of the Competition, hereby announces that the deadline for the submission of applications has been extended until 31 May 2021.

The President of the Republic of Poland becomes the honorary patron of International Competition of Polish Music

For the second time, the Stanisław Moniuszko International Competition of Polish Music has been put under the Honorary Patronage of President Andrzej Duda. Applications for the Competition can only be submitted until 14 May. The event will take place at the Artur Malawski Podkarpacka Philharmonic Hall in Rzeszów between 11 and 18 September 2021. The participants will contest in two categories: for pianists and for chamber ensembles, with the total prize money exceeding 80,000 euros.

Jury of the 2nd Stanisław Moniuszko International Competition of Polish Music

The second edition of the Stanisław Moniuszko International Competition of Polish Music will be held between 11 and 18 September 2021. The juries will be headed by Jarosław Drzewiecki and Andrzej Tatarski. The musicians can submit their applications for the competition until 14 May 2021 on the dedicated website polishmusiccompetition.pl. The event is organised by the Institute of Music and Dance in collaboration with the Artur Malawski Podkarpacka Philharmonic in Rzeszów and funded by the Polish Ministry of Culture, National Heritage and Sport.

National preliminary round of the 2nd Stanisław Moniuszko International Competition of Polish Music 2021

The national preliminary round of the 2nd Stanisław Moniuszko International Competition of Polish Music will be held in Warsaw on 4 and 5 May 2021. It is addressed to candidates holding Polish citizenship or the Karta Polaka (Polish Ethnicity Card), regardless of their place of residence. The deadline for the submission of applications is 15 April 2021.

The unknown string quartet by Miłosz Magin in the Competition

The 2nd Stanisław Moniuszko International Competition of Polish Music, held between 11 and 18 September 2021, will see a special prize for the best performance of a composition by Miłosz Magin. We would like to interest string quartets in an unique work written by that composer and preserved only in manuscript, namely his String Quartet from 1957.

Special prize for the best performance of a piece by Miłosz Magin at 2nd Stanisław Moniuszko International Competition of Polish Music

The first officially confirmed award outside the main prizes of the 2nd Stanisław Moniuszko International Competition of Polish Music will be given for the best performance of a piece by Miłosz Magin. The prize was funded by Ms Margot Magin - the composer's daughter and honorary president of the Miłosz Magin Foundation.

The second edition of the Competition was announced

The 2nd edition of Stanisław Moniuszko International Polish Music Competition will be held between 11?18 September 2021 at the Artur Malawski Philharmonic in Rzeszów. The participants will compete for a prize pool of over eighty thousand euro, in two categories ? piano and chamber ensembles.
