The musical friendship of Julia Iskrzycka and Hubert Miarka began in 2019, when they were playing in a piano quintet. The Iskrzycka&Miarka DUO was born out of their shared musical language and eagerness to continue working together. Julia Iskrzycka completed the Stanisław Moniuszko Combined State Schools of Music in Bielsko-Biała with Józef Iwanowicz. She is now in her fifth year of violin studies with Łukasz Błaszczyk and Sławomir Wilga (previously also with Michał Grabarczyk) at the Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź. She has been active in a number of chamber music projects as a member of a piano trio and a piano quintet. In 2019, she was awarded the third prize performing with a piano quintet at the Nineteenth Juliusz Zarębski International Music Competition in Łomianki. She is a permanent member of the Primuz Chamber Orchestra. Hubert Miarka completed studies of piano with Paweł Bortnowski at the Grażyna Bacewicz Combined State Schools of Music in Koszalin. He is currently in the second year of MA piano studies with Michał Drewnowski at the Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź. He has also perfected his skills with such masters as Kevin Kenner, Andrzej Jasin?ski, Mariusz Drzewicki, Zbigniew Raubo and Marcin Sikorski. As a soloist and a chamber player, he has appeared with recitals in the Czech Republic, Poland, Germany and Serbia. He won the first prize at a competition held at the Eleventh Hanza Jazz Festival in Koszalin.
