The Antarja Quartet was formed in 2009 and was known as the Amber Quartet until 2015. It is an all-female ensemble comprising graduates of the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Kraków and the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań. In 2017, the musicians completed postgraduate studies of chamber music with Johannes Meissl and Vida Vujić at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna. Until 2013, the group benefited from their collaboration with the DAFO String Quartet. They have also worked with such excellent chamber music specialists as Peter Buck, Kaja Danczowska, Piotr Kajdasz, Marek Moś and the musicians of the Belcea Quartet, the Shanghai Quartet, the Apollon Musag?te Quartet, the Altenberg Trio, the Fine Arts Quartet and the Quatuor Diotima.

In 2013, the Antarja Quartet also received guidance from Krzysztof Penderecki. The artists have appeared at international festivals held in Germany, Poland, Austria, Macedonia, Serbia, Denmark and Italy, as well as in Tehran. As the Antarja Quartet, they have brought out three CDs. The first album features works by Felix Mendelssohn and Krzysztof Penderecki; the second is a recording of a live performance from the 40th Days of Macedonian Music festival in Skopje; and the third is another live recording, this time from the Seven Trends Festival and the Seven Premieres Concert held in Warsaw. The quartet has twice participated in the ?Polish Culture Around the World? programme organised by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute and in 2021, it has been granted the ?Young Poland? scholarship making it possible to record an album with music by Grażyna Krzanowska and Andrzej Krzanowski to be released soon.
